Just by being here, you're well on your way to learning the job of a professional film and television actor!  The eBook version is exactly the same as the print one...you just have to read the little bugger on your computer. If you're not used to that sort of thing, don't fret, it's actually not half bad. Take your time, enjoy the book and join the actors and other film and television professionals from over 40 countries around the world who've already taken that first step.  You never know where that step might take you!

I really like actors, I love working with them and I love what they do.  Not just for the entertainment value, but because I really believe that what they do is IMPORTANT for all of us.  Actors give us all a license to see, feel and experience things through them that make us laugh, cry, rejoice in and abhor.  They give us a keen insight to our interconnectedness as people and most importantly, to our humanity.  It's a gift that takes courage, sacrifice and dedication in spades and I'll love em' for it always!  So, I (hopefully) am helping the next generation of actors bring that to the world as well...and hopefully I'm making the road a little less difficult.

I have been working professionally in this business for a long time...nearly 14 years now. This book contains the culmination of that knowledge, it's everything you ever wanted to know about the job of the professional actor in film and television.  It's not about finding an agent, getting headshots, 'surviving' Hollywood, getting into the unions, or finding casting directors.  It's simply the nuts and bolts, working reality of the job from the audition to the final day of shooting.

What it's like day to day, what happens on a soundstage, who you work with, what's expected of you, why it's expected and what the functional reality of the business is.  You'll learn the difference between television acting and film acting, what production companies are really looking for and why, and what makes the difference between a career in this business and a casual fling in your reckless youth.

If you are truly interested in acting professionally, then I think you will be pleasantly surprised by the information in the book. It is probably the best place (besides a soundstage) to learn what really goes on "behind the scenes". I hope you enjoy the free preview.
